Re: 6 month old not drinking formula

Has baby ever been assessed for tongue tie?

In the mean time, you might consider using a free-flow sippy cup or open cup such as the Doidy.

Re: Introducing Lynsey

Hi everyone and happy new year to you! I'll let you know a little about myself and the work I do. First and most importantly I am mum to Oscar 7, Max 4 and Samuel who will be 2 at the end of the month. I live in Benfleet where I have a small psychotherapeutic practice mainly focussed on maternal wel...

Re: Emotional Wellbeing Classes

Michelle, I'm a psychotherapeutic counsellor. I do a lot of work with new mums and I feel there is a big gap in this type of support. Antenatal classes such as those offered by the NCT do touch on these issues but fail to go to any depth beyond focussing on the subject of birthing really. A lot of t...

Thanks, Morrisko
Where are? Have you disussed this with your midwife and if so what was her reaction? Have you access to any emotional wellbeing services locally?

Re: Emotional Wellbeing Classes

Hey everyone loves free stuff huh!
I forgot to mention the emotional upheaval experienced in pregnancy and early parenthood. Looking at the change in relationship/family dynamics. (This being the major part of the course!)

Emotional Wellbeing Classes

Hello all. I wonder if you would spare a minute to let me know your thoughts.... Would an antenatal emotional wellbeing course be interesting to you? Would you have considered it or consider it in future? The focus would be on your emotional wellbeing during the perinatal period and the huge emotion...

Re: Row over childrens' beauty salon in Brentwood, Essex

Profit before kids welfare. :0( it just makes me sad.I can't blame the owner though. Despite overwhelming evidence that encouraging girls to 'make themselves attractive' at such a young age is harmful and leads to low self esteem and potential psychological issues and disorders, the parents lap it u...

Re: Breast milk ice cream goes on sale in Covent Garden

It's far more logical to use human milk than bovine milk and human milk won't be highly processed, full of nasty hormones and antibiotics like cows milk. It's a gimmick but it gets people talking about breastmilk and may, in the end go towards normalising our own species milk. There is a pretty narr...

Re: Sunless Sunday

Sorry just read your last post (im all over the place as poorly atm) Do you know how to hand express? You can try expressing a few drops to encourage him to latch - milk dripping may tell him what he will be getting once he latches. When/if he does latch you can drip a few drops of expressed milk do...

Re: Sunless Sunday

Hi i'll try to help but have some Qs first:
What kind of birth did you have? Any drugs?
Is he jaundiced at all?
Can you see him poking his tongue out?
Has he been drinking a bottle or received formula?
Has your milk 'come in' ie are you feeling engorged at all?

Re: School Mum Makeover with Melanie Sykes

I'd really like to see Breastfeeding women featured WITHOUT an emphasis on 'discreet' feeding. While there are some nice maternity lines available it's not necessary to buy specific nursing clothes. I like to wear stylish clothes while having easy 'boob access'. I prefer to keep my jelly belly and b...

Re: Do i have to take my own milk? BASILDON HOSPITAL

If you have no plans to initiate breastfeeding you are expected to provide your own ready made breast milk substitute. This is a directive across all Essex hospitals. Artifial feeds can only be provided by prescription from a consultant if there is a medical need.
