Kris - My mum's dog seems to be aware too... She's a hefty great German Shepherd, and one of the first things she does when I go over there is jump onto my lap for a hug (something she's done since she was a pup and she's 11 now, and she only ever does it with me), but when I went over there on Christmas Eve, she sat next to me until I said she could give me a hug, then she carfefully jumped up, and avoided touching my tummy at all, which is never normally a concern of hers lol

Ah yes, she's Brillo's mum then. Odd little family of cats they are!

I suppose it makes sense that animals would act differently around pregnant women, we must be hormones-a-gogo and they are so responsive to hormones, pheromones etc.

An odd little family they certainly are! But I think Mew is possibly the best cat I've ever had - She's completely mental but so loving and the perfect companion! She's even got Andy doting on her, and he hates cats lol

Yeah, it does make sense that they should be more aware - I've never really noticed it before though as this is the first time I've properly owned a pet when pregnant!

Brillo is very affectionate but also quite unpredictable - she lashes out a bit, I don't think she means to hurt but she can be a bit aggressive sometimes. I think she's just a bit thick really!

I noticed when I was pregnant that ate were different around me.

That's one reason I knew Gina was pregnant with Mason before she announced (that and her pale green face lol). Diannes cats were going round and round her continually.

Maybe they can sense the milk / mummy hormones?
