need advise about 3rd trimester

#1 Unread post by emilka » Mon Aug 27, 2012 4:27 pm

Hi all
I am 34 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby.
For over 2 weeks now i am having diarrhea but meanly in the evenings, feel kind of sick with occasional vomiting (doctors said is a virus but as far as i am concerned they last about 7 days only and even they said that), nearly constant lower back pain, feel very weak to the point that i feel like fainting and need to lay down on the side otherwise getting worse - cant breath (i am taking iron tablets), getting tightening in my tummy but not regular, feel like shooting pain in my pubic bone when baby moves ( he is breech ), i am resting as much as i can but i can not even seat down for longer then 15-20 min as back is making in impossible. I dont panic as i would not be able to sleep then but just wondering if that is like first stage of labor or something (did not have anything like that with my other 2 it went very quickly and during the night so i do not know how it really starts).
If anybody went or going through the same please reply so I can put my mind in peace as it is a bit early tho even midwife thinks they my have my dates wrong and i can be ahead about 2 weeks (baby very big and i measure 3-4 cm more then should)

Thanks to everyone who replies

Emily

Might be worth posting in the Ask the Midwife section on here.

When are you next due to see your midwife? Who did you speak to at the hospital? Was it the maternity unit?

I would phone your midwife and ask. You can phone community midwives (number should be on your book) and they'll get your midwife to call you or you'll speak to one of the team. Maternity units probably wouldn't want you on the ward if you have any sign of D &V cause of passing it on if it is a virus so best to speak to your MW who knows your history and can advise you.

The symptoms you describe could be a case of things progressing labour wise and your body having a good clear out in advance. Some ladies this can happen weeks before labour so don't panic too much. Pains re normal at this gestation as your body is softening in preparation. But again it's always best to speak to your own midwife.

Good luck and keep us informed. Do you know what your having?

These are the details for Southend - http://www.nhs.uk/Services/Hospitals/Se ... px?id=5040 as it is a bank hol, you may be transferred to CDS or extended care, but there will be a midwife to speak to regardless.

Failing that, you could phone the venue where you see the MW for your appts, they will be able to get in touch with a community midwife and get her to phone you back.

Like I said - they may not want to see you if you have sickness or diarrhea because of passing it on if it is a virus, thats probably why they are saying to give it 7 days and if its no better.....???

If your concerned, you have a right to have time with a health professional, so do not feel rushed during appointments or during phone conversations. xx

A fair few babies have a poo before / during labour. Cheeky. One I helped deliver was covered in it. Very sticky.

If your BH are getting more painful try and change positions or have a walk about. Take a couple of paracetamol and see how the pains are. Don't forget to call if you think your in labour or re worried about anything. If the pains are getting bad enough to stop you from talking then I would call MB1 / CDS (at night). I had one of my ladies say the alphabet during pains. It helped me to see at what point the pains were bad and helped her focus on something.

Morning all
So I struggled to go sleep
even more then always due to pains and discomfort
But finally after 2-3 hours I did
Woke up with a pain in my back anyway :(
Feels like replay from my second child's last week tho
Was getting contractions ending up in hospital and being sent home
By saying its nothing only this time I ain't going waste of time tho
Is midwife able to check if I started to open or not? Don't wanna ask and look stupid tho
I even packed my bag to the end last nite without thinking about it lol

I had quite regular and strong contractions for the last couple of weeks with Felix, and less so with Iris for the last week or so too. Also with Iris my waters sort of half broke and I had increasing strong contractions for two days before the rest of them finally went! I think at this stage your body does keep convincing you that things are about to get going when they're not always.

Saying that though, if you do feel like you're in labour you should give them a call!

Did you go to the hospital?

Yes a MW can check you to see if your cervix is opening.
